Barahona, DR (January 17, 2020)- The President of Dominican Republic, Mr. Danilo Medina Sanchez, Ministers and other Authorities joined Potentia Renewables Inc. and its subsidiary, Emerald Solar Energy, for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Canoa Solar Park in the district of Canoa, Dominican Republic. After 10 months of construction and a total investment of USD 45 Million, the Canoa project has an installed capacity of 25 MW in its first phase and an annual production of electricity equivalent to 34,000 Dominican households.
Canoa Solar Park will save more than 21,193 tons of CO2 emissions per year, which reduces the use of up to 12,850 barrels of oil, as confirmed by the Vice President of the Dominican Corporation of State Electric Companies (CDEEE), Rubén Jiménez Bichara.
With the commercial operation of the Canoa Solar Park, Potentia has now more than 240 MW of renewable energy assets in operation in Canada, USA and Dominican Republic.
